Compere for the evening was Steve Jordan and  special guest was Pontefract born welterweight professional boxer Zak Collins. Zac presented the HCOSC Player of the Season, Goal of the Season & Supporter of the Season awards. Following these presentations, representatives from the HCOSC branches awarded their individual Branch award to winners voted for by their members. The HCOSC would like to take this opportunity to thank Hull City AFC and the players in particular, for their attendance, which under the circumstances may not have been easy for them.

The HCOSC members voted James Chester their Player of the Season. James also scooped four Branch Awards. Center Back Jack Hobbs came second in the main HCOSC vote, was also named Tiger Travel Away Player of the Season and the Hornsea Branch members voted Jack as their Player of the Season.

The Goal of the Season honour was won by Robert Koren for his stunning goal in the victory over Leicester City on March 24^th 2012, at the KC Stadium.

The Supporter of the Season for 2011-12 was awarded to former HCOSC Secretary Peter Lincoln.

Awards were presented from five OSC Branches  -  Withernsea & District, Cottingham, Beverley, South West and Hornsea.

Following the main awards ceremony, fans both young and old where able to meet their Hull City idols who signed autographs and posed for photographs

The signed ball is 20 years old, signed by Hull City players, it’s never been bounced or pumped up and is in immaculate condition. The owner of the football is hoping to sell it at around £150 – £200.

The Hull City Official Supporters Club (HCOSC) is saddened, shocked and surprised at the developments at the KC Stadium over the last couple of days.  The departure of Adam Pearson is particularly regrettable as he has been the leader and instigator of most of the clubs development over the past ten years.  He leaves with our utmost respect and thanks for what he has achieved and we wish him well for the future.

We still await news on Nick Barmby’s future.  Since his appointment he has served Hull City as a player, reserve team manager and latterly as first team manager with passion, skill, determination and pride.  Under the management of Nick we believe the fans have seen some of the best football played in recent years. He has gained the respect of the fans and players during his time at the club and we await developments on his future and will comment when this is known.

The Allam family have made decisions for what they believe are the right reasons.  As owners and shareholders they are entitled to do so.  We hope their plans are in the best interests of Hull City AFC and not for any other reasons not known to us.

The HCOSC is committed to the support of the Tigers overall and we cannot always take individual opinions on board. In all walks of life, including football, people have varied views and do not always agree. Our aim is to bring the supporters closer to the football club and it is events like Monday evening’s Awards Presentation that make our efforts worthwhile. The fans, both young and old, were able to meet the players for autographs and pictures and to show the team our appreciation for their seasons work and endeavours. We take this opportunity to thank the players for attending the event under what must have been difficult circumstances for them.

Finally, we advise members that it is impossible to portray everyone’s personal opinion on the current situation and would hope that the above is considered a balanced view regarding the recent events at our club.

After a meal provided courtesy of Geoff at Whitehead’s Chippy, Hornsea, Burnsy arrived at the Victoria in Market Place to an audience of 50 people and opened up his talk with the words ‘have you lot not got anything better to do on a Monday night, I’d thought you’d be all out saving the Floral Hall’!

Burnsy gave a talk on his working life and encounters experienced with his sidekick ‘Swanny’ and brought his prized possession for us to see, his Sony Bronze Award.  This was followed by a question and answer session,from listeners of his morning radio show and football fans alike, and a poem written by Lin Priest.  Chris Smith, Branch Chair, presented Burnsy with a framed citation and honourary membership to the Hornsea Branch of the Hull City Official Supporters Club.

During the interval, with refreshments kindly provided by Brian at the Victoria, Burnsy drew the raffle and stayed for photographs and autographs.

Later on that evening, the audience welcomed back Neil Wilcock, freshly back from pounding the streets of the Capital for the London Marathon, raising vital funds and awareness for CRY in memory of Josh Fell, who sadly passed away in June of last year from Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome aged just 15 years old.

The Hornsea Branch of the Hull City Supporters Club have been assisting Neil with sponsorship but it’s not too late to donate to this Charity, please contact Paul Abrahams 07774 292601 if you would like to make a donation, and at this point may I thank everyone who have sent money in, via the slip included with the latest TigerMag. A total of monies raised will be released shortly.

The evening also saw the unveiling of the Josh Fell Memorial Trophy, which the Branch are proud to have named after Josh.  Committee Members, together with Josh’s parents and sister, attended the Hull City OSC’s Player of the Year Awards at the KC Stadium one week later and presented the trophy to James Chester in the absence of Branch winner Jack Hobbs.

The Marathon is now just 2 weeks away so time is running out to sponsor Neil as he takes up the challenge.

To sponsor Neil in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon taking place on 22nd April,Please return your sponsor/donation form that accompanied the latest TigerMag, or print off a sponsor/donation form that can be found on the Hull City Official Supporters club-Hornsea Branch Facebook page and return to the desk within the sportsbar at the KC on matchdays or post to the address on the form. The monies raised is in aid of CRY in memory of Josh Fell,to fund research and screenings in 2013 and beyond. 2012 Heart screenings have recently taken place with nearly 200 14-35 year olds having been screened, including a young aspiring Rotherham United trainee. In total 12 people have been refered for further tests. CRY is currently a very ‘High profile’ charity at present closely linked with stories regarding the condition of Bolton Wanderers footballer, Fabrice Muamba.

Doors will be at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start and this event is for current OSC members only. Admission is free on presentation of a valid membership card.

It must be stressed that this event is limited to 450 people and admission is on a first come first served basis so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Juniors are welcome however under 16s must be accompanied by and adult.

the cut off point to join the OSC and attend the event is 2:30pm on 21st April (Prior to the Hull City vs Nottingham Forest home game)

It must be stressed that no tickets will be sold for this event and you must be a member by the cut off point to gain entry as you will not be able to pay or join on the night.

The voice of Hull City for the BBC on BBC Radio Humberside. David in the last year has also become a firm favourite of the housewives in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, and we are stressing the evening does not have to be 100% football talk.

The event will take place at the Victoria Pub, Hornsea with doors at 7pm for a 730pm start. Entry is free for all OSC members and £2 for non members.
