Match Report

Press Conference

Marco Silva and Evandro press conference.

Manager Marco Silva and new signing Evandro faced the media at the University of Hull Training Ground earlier today, and reflected on the goalless draw against Manchester United on Wednesday evening (what a great result!) and looked ahead to Saturdays match at home to Liverpool. Marco arrived first. Both N’Diaye and Grosicki will be available for tomorrow’s game. They are doing well in training alongside the other players. Grosicki is a type of player we didn’t have in our squad, he brings something different.  Confirmation too that Mbokani is also available and there were no further injuries after the midweek game. There are some players with small problems, but Marco didn’t want to name names, ‘it is not important’. He was pleased with the result on Wednesday, but reiterated it was only one point and we need more.

On Liverpool, they have a great attitude, and we must have the same. On a great record at the KCOM thus far, and asked what the secret is, Marco says, ‘there’s no secret, it’s my job’.

He confirmed the Club is still waiting on FIFA re the Yanis Salibur transfer that was hoped to be completed on deadline day. The most important thing for Marco is to work with the players we have, not the ones we don’t. He knows what we need to improve, and believes we must make changes step by step.  ‘I said I can win this contest when I came’ he says – referring to staying in the Premier League, ‘it’s important to keep our focus and concentration and work together’. Klopp is a great coach, his team play fast football, fantastic transitions.

The smaller than usual media crowd were then joined by Evandro, with the help of an interpreter. On the draw at Manchester United, it was a difficult game, we knew it was going to be different, but the whole team are all in high spirits. We feel we can do better, playing at home against Liverpool, we have the confidence.  Everyone is extremely happy with the coach and believes the results are showing that.  Marco is a very tactical coach, and studies the opponents in detail. The Premier League is a fantastic League and opportunity and Evandro is trying his best. The whole squad are 100% intent on and believe they can stay in the Premier League. Things are looking good at the moment.  Confidence is boosted when playing against the big teams and results are good.
